Psyched to Hike 2024
Dear NewWSP Community,
Please join Nora and me for the following 2024 hiking adventures:
Sunday, September 8th
Time: 1 PM
Where: Where for Pawpaws
About: Meet up with Jon Fredrickson at Fletcher’s Boat House and walk along the canal path and into the woods. We hope, although no guarantee, to find some ripe pawpaws on the ground along the way. If you have never eaten a pawpaw, you may be in for a treat, though they are not to everyone’s taste. See link below for more information about pawpaws.

Saturday, October 5th
Time: 10 AM
Where: Great Falls Loop, Maryland
About: Meet at the intersection of MacArthur Blvd and Whiterim Drive. We will follow the Gold Mine Trails to the towpath to the Great Falls Overlook.
Sunday, November 3th
Where: Boulder Bridge, Rock Creek Park, Washington, DC
About: Meet at the Rock Creek Park Nature Center. Hike the connecting trails to beautiful Boulder Bridge. Built in 1902, the bridge was constructed with large fieldstones gathered from just outside of the park. It blends so well with its environment that it’s considered an "outstanding specimen of naturalistic parkitecture!"
Saturday, December 7th
Time: 8 AM
Where: Old Rag, Virginia
About: Meet at the Old Rag Trail parking lot. This hike is an all-day adventurous rock scramble with a spectacular 360-degree view at the top.
