The Aging Certificate Program, the “Study of Aging & Clinical Applications” is inviting you to join us at our Open House on November 19th, from 5:30 to 6:45 to hear about our two-year certificate  program that will begin in January 2024. A case will be presented by a former graduate, who is a very experienced psychotherapist, Arlene Levinson, MSW, who practices in DC. There will be ample time for a relaxed conversation about this case, and an exchange of ideas among the faculty and participants following Ms. Levinson’s  case presentation. Tybe Diamond, MSW, the Chair of the Aging Training Program, will facilitate the Open House. This 75 minute open house will be virtual and you will be notified of the zoom link enabling you to participate.

Since the inauguration of the Aging Certificate Program in 2012, the program has received uniformly excellent reviews from participants. The program offers six, 2- day, weekend conferences. The requirement for the Washington School Of Psychiatry Certificate in Aging is attendance at all six conferences as well as weekly clinical supervision. Both individual and small group supervision, are options. You can also attend conferences you select based on the topic. Some of the topics covered during this two-year cycle, 2024-2026, include an overview conference in January, followed by conferences on attachment, retirement, psychotherapy with older adults, and other topics to be announced through 2026.

We are looking forward to presenting our program, following the interruption in our presentations since 2020 due to the pandemic.

We enthusiastically welcome you to our open house on November 19 at the New Washington School Of Psychiatry! Registration is now open!
