Presenter Bio:
Mauricio Cortina M.D. is faculty member of the New Washington School of Psychiatry and the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis and the Instituto Mexicano de Socio-psicoanalisis A.C. in Mexico City. In 2019, he was awarded the Bowlby/Ainsworth award for his contributions to attachment theory and research. His publications include A Prophetic Analyst: Erich Fromm’s Contributions to Psychoanalysis and Leadership, Psychoanalysis, and Society (co-edited with Michael Maccoby) and Attachment Theory and the Psychoanalytic Process and Apego y Psicoterapia: Un Paradigma Revolucionario (co-edited with Mario Marrone). Most recently, he edited a special 2024 issue of Psychoanalytic Inquiry entitled “Erich Fromm’s Relevance for our Troubled World”.
